    Default Deep V boat owners?

A question for the owners of Deep V boats. I know a lot of the northern guys drag theres down and fish Reelfoot lake. And problems with then drafting much water in all the stumps?
Also for the ones that fish in the shallow waters and stumps. Do you use your big motor?
I may just throw the 6 hp Suzuki on the transom and use it as a kicker when fishing the shallow waters.

Obviously the deep V (what is a "deep" v to you may not be to another) will draft more than the flat bottom hulls. However, it probably won't come into TOO much play on Reelfoot unless you are trying to cross mud flats with a mud motor or stump fields with a mud motor. Then, a true shallow water flat boat will make worlds of difference. Your issues will be more getting unstuck off of stumps SHOULD you get on one. Other than, you will be ok

Actually the deep-v boats don't get hung to bad. they tend to slide off.

I use my troll motor when in shallow water. Not real sure what your worry is or I may be able to add more. I think it draft's about 12" or so and not that much more than a bass boat. Not a lot of difference I can see anyway.

Skip it takes 30 minutes on Reelfoot to idle out to the fishing hole. So don't think I would care to do that with a trolling motor.
As your can be in 12ft of water. And the stumps are at or 6" or so under the water.
KMan guess I should put Deep V Walleye boats how about that.

I'm running a 16' Bass Tracker deep V, and when I'm going into really shallow water I just trim up the 40 Hp until I'm too shallow for it, and then go with my trolling motor. If I was going to Reelfoot, I'd use one of their boats. That is unless you live close by, and you're looking for your own boat to run at Reelfoot. Just my .02:D
