Just a reminder to folks who crappie fish in New Hampshire. As of January 1, 2005 crappie now have a creel limit of 25 fish per day per person. There were no limits previously and because commercial fish hogs were targeting our waters, a limit was finally made. This limit also applies to the taking of white perch. Both are excellent eating fish, with the crappie being first. Creel limits for other panfish species are currently being considered by Fish & Game due to the operation of these out-of-state commercial fish hogs. A recommendation of a 25 fish creel limit was suggested by the Fish & Game Commission, but a public hearing will be in store later this year for comment before a law is passed. The creel limit would effect bluegill, pumpkinseed sunfish, rock bass, yellow perch to name a few. Flyrod Bob
