Quick Change Jigs

Have dumb question.

One would think that you would NOT use a leader
on 1/32 jigs or there abouts.

But what if you wanted to make a quick change to find
the right color etc to get them bitting.

Do I have learn my fast knot system to be a quick change artist, other than having 3 or 4 poles rigged up?

I think it's a good idea to have more than one rod rigged with different colored jigs. On the other hand, you should be able to tie a good knot in 30 seconds or less. If you can't, practice.

Heck I'm 73 and got what is called "Old man shakes"
I would take me 30 minutes just to thread the jig
let along tie it.:D

Skiptomylu, beat me to it. Use them all the time for jig fishing.
What i like about them is that you dont have to pull the knot back so it rides right, jigs hang perfect every time.
I like the Small ones best, and never had a problem with the jig coming off.

You can also use a loop knot and press together the ends of the loop, feed it through the hook eye, and loop it around the body.

I also like the no-knot fast snap for jigs. The only problem is I can't see how to tie the no-knot on. The small size is my favorite, but the hole you have to thread the line through is small also.

I've got a question for those of you that use the snap. How often do you re-tie your line to the snap. Store bought jigs are to expensive to just use them until the line breaks and then put on another. I tie directly to the jig and check it closely after any nice fish or several smaller ones. I re-tie if I find any fray or roughness on the line. Of course now that I tie my own I wont have to be as careful, but again thats when the big one hits and the line goes snap.
