How reliable is your information. Dropping it a foot is quite drastic. The Duke Power web site shows Wylie is now down 5.5 ft. Usually they only drop it very slow, maybe a 0.1 ft at a time. Too bad I am under the weather. This week might be the last time I could have gotten out until the rains come.

That does sound kinda odd that they would want to drop the lake a foot that quickly.....

I hate hearing your lake getting too low to get a boat in. Always gets me pumped up about fishing hearing all about the night stalks and rodeos and such coming from your area. And, when the rains finally do come your water turns to red mud and seems to take forever to clear up too. Maybe when you guys get over to Russell you'll catch big enough fish to make you want to cone back and fish here more. If Wylie doesnt come up and soon maybe you guys will want to hold a rodeo or two here on Russell, or some other lake between here and there. That might help you guys keep a hook wet until Wylie gets back to good shape. Maybe something will change......and soon!

I got this from the Catawba River Keeper.

    Lake Wylie:
Buster Boyd Access Area-all ramps will be closed.
South Point Access Area-all ramps will be closed.
Ebenezer Access Area-likely to be closed by the end of the week.
Allison Creek Access Area-all ramps closed.
Copperhead Island Access Area-all ramps closed previously.

They said Lake James is dropping one foot every three days.....

Perhaps the foot drop was not accurate but Wylie dropped about 6 inches. It is now down 6 feet.

Has anyone been taking pictures of the lake now that it is down so much. I would like to see some.

The Catawba River Keeper (www.catawbariverkeeper.org) has posted some pictures but they are mostly a month or so old.

Went to Ebenezer boat landing on Saturday to see what the water was looking like and boy was I in for a shock....On one side of the landing looking out between goat island and the dam, the water had receded out to at least between 50-60 yards from where the water usually is....At the ramps the water on the ramp was about 10 feet from the end of the dock....It actually seemed like you were at the beach....It's gonna take a real miracle for anyone to launch from there anytime soon....
