    Default Silver Lake, Spartanburg County

Any of y'all familiar with Silver lake? I think its part of the Spartanburg County reservoirs.

Is there a public or pay boat ramp on it? I've driven around it as much as I can and haven't seen one.

I caught a couple (8" & 12") from Berry's pond yesterday. I was so happy to catch a few within 20 minutes of my house. I normally have to make that 1 hour trip to Greenwood, which has limited me to weekend fishing.

I haven't heard of it before. Any idea where abouts it might be?

It's all fun and games until they open the trunk.

Its a little south of I85 on Berry Shoals Road that connects sc101 and sc 290.

Silver lake spills into Berrys Pond (which has a boat ramp).

I like fishing smaller lakes like that. It may not turn out to be the best crappie lake, but sometimes you can run into some of these lakes that are great for brim or catfish.

Berry's pond has a bait and tackle shop, but since I fish mostly on Sundays, I haven't been there when its open. There do seem to be lots of cat-fishermen there sometimes.

I talked to a guy one day who had a friend who caught an 11 pound and 7 pound bass from Berrys pond.

Have you been to Lake Rabon? It would only be about a 30 minute drive from where you are. Great lake to fish with a really nice double boat ramp and plenty of parking. Boat permit costs $35.00 per year.
To make life enjoyable, you must have crappie days.

I went to Lake Rabon a couple of Sundays ago, but the office was closed and there was no one to take my money. Is there a way to pay the fee or register for Lake Rabon online?

    The park there is beautiful.
