the techinques depend on the lake tight lining seems to work best but on shalower lakes it can be just a jig under a float. I will be back with a list of lakes.

I live in Whatcom county. I am new to crappie fishing. I was wondering if anyone knew of any lakes up north crappies? I have heard that Wiser Lake has some. What techniques seem to have the most success in this state? Thanks.

Well so far the only lake in Whatcom County is Lake samish but your southern neighbor, Skagit has Beaver lake, Big, Clear, Erie, McMurray all have crappie in them

Big Lake might be your best bet for a good stringer of crappies. I haven't beem up there since they began to have problems keeping the water levels up but before that there were a ton of crappies in that lake. Not slabs, but crappie none the less. It warms faster than any of the other lakes up there due to how shallow it is so the bass and crappies begin to spawn in early April.
