Default Hey Rango Ugly Stik to the Rescue

This little article is in this months Field and Stream Page 107.

    Beaten by the Ugly Stik

It was a good thing he"d planned on fishing.
When Skip Goener was attacked by a mountain Lion near the inlet stream of Glacier Nation Quartz Lake. He struck at it with the only weapon he had--and Ufly Stik spinning rod.
He managed to keep the lion at bay until his cries for help brought his friend, Butch Montagino to his side.
"He was just whaling at the cat with the rod", Montagino says.
The men's combined efforts drove away the lion, which lingered nearby for a few minutes, screaming at the fishermen, before finally melting into the underbrush...

Ugly Stiks are good for something.

If I was a betting man I'd say that rod is still in use too. Iv'e done a lot worse than beating mountain lions off with an ugly....

a boat loaded with driftmasters loaded with ugly sticks manned by sc nightstalkers is a formadable opponent. one would be wise to keep that in mind when takin em on (or placing bets on the outcome).......:D

i have one i call my whacker rod. as every nightstalker knows, making a commotion on the water will attract crappie. we been using one to whack the water with for years. whackin the water about once an hour for 5 or ten minutes will work wonders on a slow night......:D

If it he had any other kind of rod, he would have been arrested for killing the animal.

On account of it would have broken after a couple licks and he'd've had to resort to stabbing the thing...:D
