well , it's really not a vacation - not when yer going back for a family reunion and have to spend ten days consecutive with 'em. heck , the 19 hour drive is enough to kill the average man and i'm getting to the point where it's tougher every year to drive straight thru. anyway , hope to have some pics to post and i'll see y'all around the end of the month.

Had an awesome time away in the mountains of upstate NY.
Just a few pics to show some of my catch - some nice brookies and a decent pickerel , all caught on a 3 foot ice fishing jig pole.

Pete - if you ever want to catch a bunch of trout, brook, rainbows or browns, let me know and I'll hook you up. There is some world class trout fishing within minutes of my house in Gray TN. I grew up in Western NY - a lifetime ago. We fished a lot for those little wild brookies. They were fun and tasty too! I still get a big kick out of catching those little fish. Match the tackle to what your after and it can be a challenge even with 7" fish. Besides the places you have to go to catch them are really nice to see. PM me if you are ever interested in catching some trout a little closer to home.

Hey Mark , good to see an ex fellow yankee here . I may take you up on your offer. I don't fish much for trout anymore , but i gotta get my fix of brookies every now and again. I'll hit you with a pm and swap numbers or whatever , but i'd like to wait for a little cooler weather before i do much trout fishing. SOON , it'll be time for me to hit Normandy and chase after those honker slabs, and i came back from Vacation with several football/teardrop perch jigs to see if i can get any jumbos from Normandy as well. - Pete
