Default Pickwick Lake Fishing Report May, 17,2007

Hey Everybody, Hope ya'll had a good week.

June 9 is free fishing day for the whole state of Tn.

    Lake Elevation 413.5 - Water Temp 73

Don't know what the cold temps this weekend is going to do to the fish, but
    this is nice weather.

Crappie is slow not much at all going on ...sorry

Bass is still good early with top water on main lake points and shallow flats.
Also throw crankbaits to the bank and bring out to 10 feet of water.

White Bass are running at the Dam and Diamond Island area try Bandit crankbaits, also try small white grubs.

Stripers are biting at the Dam, try drifting from the Dam back to the first power line with live minnows.

Catfish bite is good on the lake with any of the standard old baits.
Ya'll be careful and good fishing..........spider rig man

SRM If I can handle it next week. I plan on putting the USS Crappie in at Yellow creek. And do some spider rigging.
If the fish are not bitting that is a good time to hit it. That way I can do as good as the rest.

    Man this is strange. LOL
Look at what I have been working on for the last week.. LOL
Think we may need to get together and find out how they work. Have 36 of them.:D They even have weights in the pipe. That way they stand on end if a fish hits and takes the bait and is not still on it. Also has a place for a glow stick for night fishing

Yes Jimmy that is where the cut off line is for yellow creek.
Thought you would have been to Pickwick by now.

SRM I bought the kits from a guy that makes them. You add the noodle and PVC. There a lot better then the ones I made up just using PVC and noodles.
I can give you the link if you would like to have it. Don't know if the board would like me posting a link that is not a supporter of the board.

I picked up some spools from wally. Reg price about 4.75, some were .50 some 1.00 and some 2.00. Got 17 in all. Yellow, with a small lid on 1 side and large lid on the other. Have 3 swivels, top 2 will slide, but stay 18" apart. Drilled a small hole on side, run line through it to set depth. Put a 1 oz. sinker on 24 oz bottle painted yellow.

I've been on the lake, but fished the marina area mostly.
Is there a ramp on the TN side of the bridge?

    Default Ramp

canebreaker, yea there is, it's called Bruton Branch Ramp and State Park. one
    mile from my cabin.
It's a good concrete ramp and there's primative camping site's, with lot's of shade tree's.
Also there is the ramp and state campsite's with hookups below the dam.
