    Default Big Sandy this morning

I took my old lady fishing for about 3 hours this morning and came home with 40 crappie over 10 inches. We caught about 15-20 short ones, 6 sauger, 3 white bass, and she even caught a catfish about 2 pounds. We let all those go.

We went to the Big Sandy area of Kentucky Lake. All were caught on minnows fishing a ledge in about 13-18" of water. About half of the fish had eggs that were just starting to develop. Half had no eggs at all. No fish that were heavy with eggs.

Nice haul for 3 hours of "work!" Wish I'd been there, too!

    Grumpy,

Just wondered what part of the Sandy you were fishing? I fished the Britton Ford area last Saturday and had a heck of a day with my dad...then again any day fishing with my dad is a great day.

Way to go on the catch there..I aint had a chance to get up in that area all spring. If it had been winter I would make a reason to go up there at least that is what I do during duck season.Wonder how the wife would act if I took off for the weekend and went to Big Sandy and it is mothers day.

We went a couple of days ago. The weather man said 5-10 mph winds. We fished for about an hour and a half and caught 9 keepers and the wind got so bad, we just packed up and went home.
It was really nice down there today. We got there around daylight. Almost no wind at first and then just a little. Nice and cool until the sun came out. If it wasn't so far to drive, I would go again tomorrow. We live about 50 miles away.

Nice looking catch there. We're planning on going to Ky lake Saturday but we'll be in the Paris Landing area. What's the story on fishing within a few miles of the marina?
