I've got a couple I got some years ago but never used them. The few times I could have, I couldn't remember where they were. They are in the boat somewhere. LOL
Do any of you use marker bouys much? I found a good idea on the main board a couple of years ago.
You can take those foam pool noodles and cut them in 6 or 7 inch lenghts, next get a 6 inch spike and run it through the bottom half of the noodle legnthwise this is the counter balance.
Then tie on as much nylon line as you think you'll need and a weight and you have it.
The colors are bright the float well and don't roll or drift and best of all they are cheap to make considering one marker bouy cost about $6 at BPS.

Those pool noodles are also good for cutting up in small pieces and hooking your jigs to so they don't jumble-up in your box.Originally Posted by Joe Tilghman

We used them on the Suffolk lakes to mark stumps on the channels, use to make them out of 20oz soda bottles, makes for a stealth marker, people ride right by thinking it's just a piece of trash floating.
I made some markers from a funoodle as you describe. They work fairly well unless the wind is blowing hard enough to create a lot of wave action. Then, the counterweights I used aren't enough to keep the marker from unwinding. I just bought more 16d nails this evening so I can increase the amount of counterweight on the markers.Originally Posted by Joe Tilghman
I made eight of them last year for around $10. The two ounce sinkers were the most expensive item. My old sinker mold from years ago was borrowed and not returned and I forgot who borrowed it .
