how u keep your lines from getting tangled when spider rigging? I get tangled up with just two poles out especially if the wind is blowin.

thank you for all your wonderful advice I really enjoy reading through the forums here at crappie.com

hopefully with enough practice I'll be able to catch more crappie and post some advice.

long poles are a must along with the proper spacing. you may also want to try adding wieght on your line to keep it as vertical as you can. and go slow, when you think your going slow -- go slower

very much appreciate the tip crappieday.

I just been using regular size poles: 6' or so and no weight except the 1/16 jig

I use mostly 9, 11 and 12 footers and stagger them so they are not all in a line while trolling. I know I would do better with some 14 and 16 footers thrown in there but I don't like the 3 piece poles.

you can use some telescoping poles this time of year if budget is an issue and rig your whole boat for not much money at all. tie on the length of line you want and go get em

8 and 12 foot poles propperly spaced and you will never get tangled unless a thug or green carp get in your way.

I know there is probably better rigs out there then mine, but I use a 14', 12' 10; and 8' on each side of the bow for a total of 8. all are 2 piece w/small spinnig reels. Put some weight on and as the other guys said --go slow. Mine are staggered in 2' apart because of the length and about 2 1/2 feet apart going from front to rear. still need to use caution and don't pull sharp turns. Carl
