Default Carrie Underwood and crappie fishing.

Yes, there is a connection. For those who don't know, Carrie was last seasons American Idol winner who recently won three grammy's. I bought her album when it first came out and a line in one of her songs really grabbed my attention. (for some reason I didn't think about posting it till now) Her second to last song on the cd is called "I Ain't In Checotah Anymore" which is her hometown. Check out the lyrics.

    Where 69 meets 40,
There's a single stop light town,
And back when I was really young,
A part of that burned down,
    On any given Friday night,
    We'd drive a hundred miles,
Between the Sonic and the Grocery Store,
    Laughing all the while,
With as many friends as I could pack,
    In my daddy's Ford,
But I ain't in Checotah anymore.
    My hotel in Manhattan,
Holds more people than our town,
And what I just paid for dinner,
Would be a down payment on a house,
I'd rather be tipping cows in Tulsa, Then hailing cabs here in New York,
But I ain't in Checotah anymore.
I'm in a world so wide,
It makes me feel small sometimes,
I miss the big blue sky,
    The Oklahoma kind.
In a world of long red carpets,
    The bright lights of Hollywood,
    All the paparazzi flashing,
Could make a girl feel pretty good,
You can get anything you want here,
    Except a Wal-Mart store,
But I ain't in Checotah anymore.
I'm in a world so wide,
It makes me feel small sometimes,
I miss the big blue sky, The Oklahoma kind.
Where the Wildcats beat the Ironheads,
Old Settler's day and the Okra fest,
After prom, down at the bowling lanes,
Catching crappie fish in Eufaula Lake,
    I ain't in Checotah anymore.
I'm in a world so wide,
It makes me feel small sometimes,
I miss the big blue sky,
    The Oklahoma kind,
    But I ain't in Checotah,
    No I ain't in Checotah,
    Oh, there's nothing like Oklahoma.
    Where 69 meets 40,
    There's a single stoplight town.

We got us a grammy winner singing about fishing for crappie. I knew there was something special about this girl. Maybe one of you single guys can get a date with her if you promise to take her crappie fishing. :D

I'am going to stick up for her. She is a great up and coming country singer and most likely one hell of a crappie fishing girl. Love her music.

Or maybe her song-writing partners like to crappie fish. Or maybe they just thought it would sell cd's. All about the money, you know.

She's still hot and she sings good. Too bad I didn't run into her at CRS(Country Radio Seminar) last week. Did meet Kelly Pickler. My gf's roommate works for her. She's hot too and she has an odd obsession for playing Connect-Four.

Opps, she might not enjoy our trips then...... they almost always end with a dive into Lake Crisco!

How can someone like her be involved with PETA. I'm disappointed.

I wouldn't mind taking her crappie fishing!!!
