I know nothing about handlining but applaud you in your efforts.
I have enjoyed writing over my many years (never published) and found it to be very relaxing while at the same time exciting.
Best wishes to you!

I spent a lot of years in the Middle East working....and fishing. The old locals would hand line. They would use a Pepsi can like a spinning reel. Wrapping 80# test around it and throw it out and it came off the can just like it would a spinning reel. Quite something to see them pull in a 50 pound grouper hand over hand. Best of luck on your book.

My congratulations on your efforts and video. I have never hand lined when fishing. I am basically an ultra lite rod (B-n-M or Ugly Stick) and a Shakespeare open face reel combination. Works for me.
