Default Good day on the water.

Had a great day at Nickajack. Caught 50 keeper crappie....8 being quality fish in the 11-12 inch range and 43 being at the 10 inch mark...and a couple of dozen more that were short fish....didn't even measure them. Also stopped off at Normandy Dam on way home to see if the trout have been stocked.....and they have. Spent about an hour there and caught 23 stocker trout 8-10 inches long. Crappie caught on a Major Craft Area Trout rod 6' 7" UL. Used a Bison colored Trout Magnet on a 1/16 ounce jig head fishing in 23 feet of water.....with the fish at the 12-14 foot mark. Water was clear and 68 degrees. I had to leave my good spot as when the water was ebbing and flowing a patch of grass came floating in about 20x20 feet in size...then the current stopped....the grass just stayed in front of me....LOL. Just a bad break...no way to get around it...had to move about 40 feet and the quality fish were not there. It was just a great day of fishing.....beautiful weather....life is good!
