Thumbs up TIP ON SCALING FISH!!

I normally do not scale fish but rather fillet them with my electric knife. I have an elderly widow down the street that loves to eat pan fish. She has asked me several times to scale her some crappie. I told her I did not scale fish but would be glad to give her all the fillets she wanted. Well I got to feeling guilty and decided to scale her a couple of crappie. I just happen to have hanging on my shop wall a device called an EZ Scaler. I don't know how long it had been there and really thought it was just another device to make money. Well I decided to give it a try and was I surprised that it actually worked. Therefore, my Tip is if you are going to scale fish give this thing a try. It fits right into your Mister Twister fillet knife and makes short work of scaling a fish.

Take a butter knife or a spoon and scale them. Country folks been doing it that way for generations. Be sure to leave the fins on them as well. That's the way country folks been eating them for years. Eat the fins like potato chips.

That is the way I have always done it. However, after using this device I will only scale fish using it. No more spoons or knives for me.

I use a drill with a cake mixer paddle. Never seen anything faster. Just keep your fingers out of the way it doesn't feel pleasant. I rarely scale though

Mrdux got it right if you are going to scale. I just skin them, but definitely keep the tails...yum.

I've heard this from several people. I always expect to see some guy at the car wash using the pressure washer to scale fish. Guess you could use the floor mat holders to camp the tails
