    Default eyeless minnow

While fishing under slip corks today we would get lite bights and reel up to check bait and the eyes of the minnows would be gone. Figured it must be a turtle. Anyone ever had this happen?

To incapacitate the minnow. They'll also nip off fins & tails.

I noticed the same thing the other day. Had no idea it would have been Bluegill doing that to them.
If you dont have time to do it right the first time, when are you going to find time time to fix it.

Yep bluegills will suck the eyeballs first and they will eat the belly portion of the minnow. They will not stop until you catch them and remove them.

We are talking small bluegill. Their size only gives them minor attack tools. They suck to disable and knock off small bits they can eat and swallow

Indeed !! And I had forgotten the point that Grainraiser brought up ... they will attack the soft underbelly area and take out chunks, too !!
