Steve: A buddy of mine bought one a year or so ago. He has not had any problems with it. Seems to be a good unit.

When purchasing goods from ANY manufacturer the buyer never knows what caused the product to be labeled "recondition" or "refurbished". But most manufacturers have standards and quality control to ensure product reliability. Two things stand out from what I saw....

    1 reputable dealer (minnkota)
2 one year warranty and from what I saw it did not indicate that it was a "limited" warranty

If something is going to go wrong with a new product it would show up pretty quick after you got it out.

Looks like a deal where you can get a quality product and save a few bucks.

    good luck!!

I bought a recondition MK autopilot four years ago. I just replaced the turning motor, but mine is used long and hard. Think it would have happened even if it was a new one.

I also have a reconditioned MK auto pilot. I have had it for 3 years with no trouble. CF

    Default Minn Kota

I have a minnkota auto pilot and would not spend the money again.
For me in close cover they are way to noisy in changing direction. They will every now and then try to spin on you for no reason. Also just out of warranty foot pedal went bad 2 times.
