Default Ideas for Crappie in Muddy waters...

What type of baits and colors do you use in Chocolate Milk color waters? I fish a reservoir the gets muddy VERY easily.

Personally I think they are getting full on the milk...lol.

Seriously I know it's harder for the fish to see in those conditions, but how have you caught them?

Never actually fished water as "thick" as what you describe, but if I were confronted with kinds of conditions, I'd definitely go with a 2" paddle tailed plastic bait, like a Slider Grub. Something with some vibrations. And slow roll it along the bottom. Keeping colors on the bright side as well won't hurt; i.e.: chartreuse, glow and/or whites.

I use either minnows and/or black and chartreuse colors in the lake that I fish when it's real muddy.

    1. The lateral line is a system of sense organs found in aquatic vertebrates, mainly fish, used to detect movement and vibration in the surrounding water.

Black and chartreuse and lots of vibration. Sliders, roadrunners, extra. A couple of years ago I use a black and chartreuse sliders on a roadrunner saved the day only caught 24 that day but we where the only ones with fish in the live wells.
