Default need advice for non crappie related rod

So my father in law is from the Netherlands, and his father recently passed away. When they were finalizing his estate he came across this rod and knowing that I loved to fish, he gave it to me. However I have no clue what reel to put on it! Spinning or baitcast? From the small diameter of the guide closest to the reel seat I would assume baitcast but I could be wrong.

    Nordic big game

It is truly a gorgeous rod, and extremely light for having such a stout backbone. Maybe I can use it for dragging paddlefish here in oklahoma?

Oh and if this is in the wrong section I apologize!

In the description, the word "multiplier" is used. When the Europeans say "multiplier", they mean "baitcaster".

TFG Delta Boat Multiplier Reel ( DT20L )

Looks like you have a nice salt water rod. They are on ebay for 99 british lb. The reel I put the link to was on a sight in England as sold with that type of rod. Question, is it really a 3 piece rod, with 2 different weight tips? Very interesting post. Thanks.

Yes, 3 pieces with 2 tips, one has a lighter action than the other. It came with the travel pouch.

    Thanks for the replies everyone!
