Did you catch anything?

When dealing with small 2" crank baits
at rear of boat in windy conditions, make
sure you know what both hands are doing, and, rod is secured while you untangle or separate crankbait from main line.
NO pictures avail. - but i am hear to tell
that those #6 tripple hooks are sharp.
buried i prong in index finger and second
prong of same hook in thumb - both went
to the bone due to wave action on boat.
Was able, with help of Bill Bercaw #1
partner to cut one prong to open hand.
Trip to - Walk-in-Clinic - both prongs
had to be dug out - sewed up and was
back on water in 1 1/2 hrs.
Went to using 2" jigs rest of day.
Still to early to work with cranks on
water

OUCH! But ya shoulda pulled em. Pair of needle nose and a quick jerk and they pop right out. Gotta jerk quick though. Couple shots of Beam calms everything back down.
Not so lucky with this tripple hook ...
Know how to use line around hook & pressure with sharp jerk will do trick.
These 2 prongs went into separate fingers pulling them tight together.
Bill had set forceps with cutter in rear - had to push forcepts between hooks to rear
and try to apply pressure to cut them apart. Now let me say this: Thats smarts
Once fingers apart - were able to unscrew eye hook from crank, clearing more room.
The one prong was buried to the bone almost parrel to bone - approx 1/16 long with
barb intact. Other prong was pretty easy - use the line thing and sharp jerk.
Fingers also bleed quite well and sometimes had to find exact piece inside puncture.
In answer to Dave's question: Caught couple blue gill off cranks -
caught several specks 12 - 14" length on pushing zips up front 1.0 mph - 1/2 oz drop wgt
Rear of boat working various sliders & (sour grape)(acid rain) along with black/camo
green & sparkle purple, Southern Pro & Bobby Garland -(boubles 16 & 32oz jig heads.)
Kept 7 for dinner and threw back 28.
Wind became problem in afternoon comming down lake from North -South
Just bustin yer stones Harold. Was offshore one day on a charter and a wild wahoo came in and threw the hook as the mates was tryin to get him boxed. Mate had to endure 6 hrs fishing with a 9/0 buried to the bend in his calf. Still worked hard and we caught a pile of fish. We tipped him well and made sure he had a ride to clinic as it took lots of adult beverages to endure the ride in anx cleaning fish. He would not leave till all was done.

Man thats dedication -
Asked the Dr at Walk-In if they get many with fish hooks - he goes "oh yea", but
most are big hooks from Salt Water - He hadn't seen small ones like this before,
that buired them selves so deep. Now have small pair of "wire cutters" in tackle bag.
Using "lip-less cranks" 2" long, very narrow bodies, create very tight wobble vs
mini balsa / Shinney Hinney / 200 or 300 strike kings, floaters that come to top
when you stop. Lipless sink when you slow - must not stop boat when reeling a fish in.
With lipless have found them to almost outfish balsa's 2 - 1
