    Default Sheet Aluminum

Has anyone bought sheet aluminum off the internet at a reasonable price? Grade quality is not important. I'm looking for something in size of .125 - .190...4' x 12'

Shipping will kill you. Find a local shop to order it for you. Most any welding shop should be able to get it for you. They can order aluminum just like steel.

    Okay, whacha working on? Pontoon?

I agree with Ranger, i think the shipping would be outragous, here is a link to an online metal store.

A couple of years ago I took metal studs and laid them across the gussets..if that is what they are called.. support brackets, whatever, in the floor riveted the studs to the brackets. So that when one walks around they would not feel the floor giving when in between the brackets. I found some sheet aluminum and lined the boats side.

Anyway my floor and upper deck is wood. I want to replace them with aluminum. Then I going to scuff the aluminum and spray that bedliner stuff on it. I'm tired of carpet.

I did not think about shipping cost....DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Hey Rusty, I don't know how much help this will be, but...Rango from the SC board overhauled his boat with aluminum. I'm not sure what he finally went with, but I remember talk about using aluminum bleachers from sports complexes. Here are the links to his posts about the aluminum and the remodel...Hope it helps some. And have a great New Year Rusty!
