    Default Floral City results, Saturday, March 28th


    March 28th (Burrr cold)

    Floral City
    Lake Floral
    Lower pool - Tsala Apopka Chain


    After two (2) cold fronts in two days,
    temp. from 80 plus to low of 46 on Sat.
    2 1/2 inches rain, water temp in 70's,
    Saturday morning opened with bara. pressure 30:09, calm winds by 9am press
    had jumped to 30:17 - by 10am 30:19
    and stayed high till 2pm b4 starting dn.
    Wind speeds -wnw to west varying from
    4.8-6.9 gusting at times to 17mph.
    With all those variables, 10 teams took to
    the 9,000 stained acres of water for the
    FIRST time FCC had tried lake system.

    Two (2) positions paid for "big fish"

    1st: Enoch & John Harris
    1 lb 9.4 oz

    2nd: Kirk Whitehead / Dave Rideout
    1lb 8.7 oz

    Two (2) positions paid for "7 fish wgt
    catch"

    1st: Darryl & Terri Cole
    7 lbs 12.5 oz

    2nd: Kirk Whitehead / Dave Rideout
    6lbs 1.5 oz

    Pre-fish previous Sat-Sun - Tues -
    Thurs showed that larger females had
    already spawned out and were in stress mode. 10 - 12" females were
    still carrying roe still possible month
    off on spawing.

    Cole team: Wally Marshall rods, spider
    rigged, minnow tipped with Skipper's &
    Ron zip jigs: Hot pink - copper colors -
    buttercup along with Brewer mini sliders - chart/black.

    Whitehead team: Wally Marshall rods,
    spider rigged, minnow tipped using Ron's
    zips yellow - orange & hot pink

    Both teams working 14 ft water varied
    depths of 4 - 9 ft.

    St Johns River (Astor Florida)
    Public Ramp off hwy 40.
    Can fish anywhere including Lk George
    Dexter, Woodrift to highway 44 bridge Deland.

    Just want to take the time to say, " Thank You" for your tournament reports, and the photos. Looks like you really put a lot of time into doing this, really enjoy reading them, as I'm sure many others do also.

    Thank you, we try to give as much information about a lake as know.
    How a lake was fished, various styles used to catch fish and what equipment
    was used, types of assessories (jigs - hooks - bobbers - etc)
    Depth worked and water temp, barametric pressure and time of year.
    If records are kept this will help most fishermen have a starting point on what to
    do.

    Will not have another tournament in the Tsala Apopka Chain until October 24th,
    Lake Henderson, Inverness.
    We welcome questions about other lakes in Florida from Crescent Lake to Okeechobee
