Default The wind won today at Ky Lake

Man, it was rough! We attempted to do some scouting today for new spots but the wind was awful. Fished back in a creek for a while but didn't do well. It was rolling 3+ footers out in the channel and even with the smooth move seats we still got beat to death. Paul and I both got bounced completely out of our seats. On the plus side, the sun was shining, we weren't at work and got to spend the day together.

The birds were everywhere. We came across two pelicans, too. I thought they just made a pit stop here in west Tenn and then moved further south, so it was surprising to see them.

At least you were able to get on the water. I pulled up to the ramp with my boat only to find the lake froze over since I last checked it Thursday. Needless to say it was a rough drive back home.

A friend and I got a few hours in today, catch and releasing. Almost 20 went through the boat before the wind got so bad we had to go. Whitecaps were developing and staying on spot was impossible. We were done by 10 but what a beautiful day it was anyway. I'm ready for the weather that is around the corner. We hit 60* and spent the rest of the day just bummin in the sun, it was great.
Glad you and Paul got out and got some boat time in. Next time you'll draw a better weather card.

I went yesterday didn't fish but was experimenting with the 360. Was able to find the resting place for a lot of bandits I lost last year. It was ok in the creeks. There was a shad kill at Cuba Landing. It was fairly rough on the river.

The north end of the lake was horrible yesterday! Wind gusts had to be approaching 30mph with the size of the swells on the main lake. I lost my hat twice before we even got onto the water. We ended up putting in below the dam to play with stripers for a couple hours and knocking the cobwebs off the boat. Kudos for you guys getting out.

We put in a Paris Landing and ran north but didn't get to go as far as we planned on. It was nasty for sure.

Were you able to catch any stripers among all those bighead carp?
