Crooked Lake
Bob's Landing
Babson Park, Fl
The deepest spring fed lake in Florida.
Secrets of catching crappie in the daytime
have been revealed @ Crooked. Gone are the myths "can only catch'em at Night,
never on full moon, lake stopped producing after the "Storm Sandy", they
go very deep during summer months and
a host of other remarks that would fill a
complete page, even some of bait shops
pushed people in other directions. This
was first Crappie Tournament ever held
on lake per Cindy & Rick Ritchison of Bob's
Landing. There were pre-fish tournament
players and locals that came away past week believing these stories and canceled
out, however,five (5) teams didn't believe
stories and were going to take this body
of water on to prove a lot of people wrong and did so in fashion.
One (1) position was paid for "Big Fish"

One (1) position paid 7 fish total

Parker & Eberly had never been on lake,
nor seen any picturess/maps or views and

They spider rigged using Wally Marshall rods, with "Just JIggin" ice jigs, minnow
tipped in colors of purple/gold glitter,
Chartreuse/gold glitter and orange/gold
glitter. working "Brush Piles" in 14 - 16 ft
water.
Parker team spent first 3 hrs just scouting lake, marking brush piles, point of intersection, grass & weed lines and off shore humps, flats related. Once they
started, they caught, culled 43 fish, nothing under 11 inces in 4 3/4 hrs of
actural fishing time.
There are fish in Crooked Lake and they
are worth catching...
