    Default Reels

I love to use those little bnm reels when im jiggin. Ive run into a problem with line getting caught up in the side of the reel and gets broke in the gears. Anyone else have this problem? How do you fix this?

That seems to be a downside to those reels. Quite a few complaints have been registered about that very problem.
I don't use them, so I will defer any "fixes" to those members that have used them (if, in fact, there IS a fix).

To solve that problem, I went to a different reel. It did it to me a lot when I used them. Never again.

I recently bought one to put on my jigging pole and have had the same issue. It's a pain having to pull the spool out to get the line out of the side or breaking and having to retie, seems the only fix is a new reel

I'm using a Martin Fly reel on my jig pole. Older model .

On my poles I use trolling, I went to a full fledged bait casting reel with something like a 6.2:1 ratio. I can bring a crappie up from 40 feet in a flash! LOL
