    Default St Johns River/Lke George results April 13t


    Results St Johns 7th tournament
    of 2013 schedule.

    April 13th, 2013

    15 teams entered tournament
    with overcast weather, low wind
    in morning hrs with water temps
    running 71.4 - 78.5 by noon. Winds
    varied up from 4.8 - 11.mph mid day.
    Much, much better than high winds of
    18 - 25 mph on Friday with hevy treat of
    rain.
    All teams stayed in river working both north & south of hwy 40 bridge.

    (2) positions paid for "big fish"

    1st: John Peyton / Mike Hearpst
    2 lbs. 1.5 oz (14.5 in long)

    2nd: Ted Harry / Eric Magnasim
    1 lb. 12.6 oz.

    (3) positions paid for "7 fish total
    catch weight"

    1st: John Peyton / Mike Hearpst
    9 lbs. 12.2 oz

    2nd: Darryl & Terri Cole
    8 lbs. 13.0 oz.

    3rd: Bill Badley / Denny Tittle
    8 lbs. 6.7 oz.

    Winning team Peyton/Hearpst "single
    pole jigged with Sam Heaton rod &
    red spot jiggs, along with cane pole
    & bobber, red spot, minnow tipped jig"
    Jigged lilly pads and grass lines in blow
    downs along river.

    Second place Cole team - Wally Marshall
    rods, Skipper Jigs (butterscotch - hot pink & cram/orange collar. minnow tipped
    spider riggin 10 - 18' water, 12 down.

    pictures attached are for 1st 2nd & 3rd
    winners along with big fish. at end is
    picture of 2 pounder along side 1 pounders - what a difference especially
    in length

    Next tournament will be lake Okeechobee
    Okeetaniee Ramp, off hwy 78 at Kissimmee river entrance (northside)to
    big "O" open nice ramp, no charge, Saturday, April 27th.
