Default Spider rigging....one hook or two?

A quick question for those of you who have been spider rigging longer than me. Guess that includes most everyone on this board now that I think of it. Anyway when spider rigging do you use one or two hooks on each rod? I have tried it both ways and haven't yet been able to tell that one way catches more fish than the other. What I do find is that I have more tangles when using two hooks.

Thanks for voting in the poll.

Its just personal preferance....most folks use two hooks or jigs on each rod. I prefer just one....less tangles that way for me.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

6 foot and deeper 2, super shallow 1. Majority of the time I am in deeper water than 6

Depends on water depth. Under 6ft use one over that use 2 unless I'm fishing in cover then I stay with 1 to reduce hangups. In deeper water I think it gives you better coverage if you have them spread far enough apart. But that's just a opinion. I think everyone would tell you to try it both ways and figure out what works best for you where you fish.

Multiple pole, slow trolling method :

Usually consists of rod holders & long poles ... may be set up to fish out the front by one or two anglers, or front & back by 2-4 anglers. So named because the setup makes the boat/poles look like a "spider" (sort of).

I have 2 rods rigged with 4 hooks...they go out first to help determine depth the fish are holding at..all the others have 2. Soon as I determine depth, the 4 hook rods get put away for 2 hook rigs.

I only spider rig while fishing deep water, but I like to use a jig on top around 24" to 36" down to a minnow, sinker in the middle of the two.

Certainly not an expert here but I use two 1/16th oz jigs.
