I hit the lake this morning at 6am, air temp was 32° and water temp was 55°. We had just had 4
days of rain which had dumped 6.5" of rain in the lake. I fished a couple of my regular hotspots
and wasn't having much luck so I went hunting them, I finally found them and ended up with 32
crappie, the largest being 13"
I took these pictures of the largest fish because she looked like she had swallowed a golf ball or
something a little larger. She was loaded with eggs
My highlight of the day happened when I was fishing by pipes that connect the ponds, I had 2 minnow
poles out and had just hooked one when the other float when down. I had the 1st crappie at the surface
and turned my attention to setting the hook on the other one. All of a sudden I heard a large splash in
the water and turned to see the first crappie over a foot in the air where a big bass had knocked him when
he blew up on him. I got both the fish but would have loved to see how big the bass was because it was an
11' crappie he tried to get. Needless to say that shut down the crappie fishing in that spot.
Overall it was a hard day fishing that turned out good!!!
