    Default Lake Sante-Fe tournament results 11-10-12


    November 10th

    FCC 18th tournament of 2012


    11 teams competed in tournament
    under pretty much excellant conditions

    (2) positions paid for "big fish"

    1st: Team: John Peyton / Walley L.
    1 lb. 13.7 oz

    2nd: Team: John Hill & son JJ
    1 lb. 12.7 oz

    (2) Two positions paid for "7 fish
    total catch weight:

    1st: Darryl Cole / solo
    10 lbs. 6.0 oz

    2nd: Nate Smith / solo
    8 lbs. 12.7 oz

    1st place fished with Deep-South rods
    12 & 16' long upfront & Wally Marshall
    5 - 7ft off rear of boat on modified
    spider/trolling method.
    Jigs used Charlie Brewer sliders Black/
    Gold & Chart tails, AWD triple tails
    blue/chart & Skipper Jigs, Butterscotch
    junebug & black-chart tail
    Working 6.5 - 8.0 water lines

    Next tournament will be November 17th,
    Lake Tarpon, Tarpon Springs, Fl.

    Surprised them weights were not heavier. Lake musta took a beatin with the low water.

    Have often wondered why the Blacks are a little heavier in North & Northcentral
    parts of Florida than in center and lower Florida.

    Possible warmer waters year round, or soil composition in the south. Tanic or heavier stained
    water dosen't seem to matter to the them
    Time of year don't seem to bother as both starting gaining weight from October through spawn. Lake Tarpon females starting showing signs of egging up in
    late August, now they are putting on "feed bag" so hard that stomachs and intestines are bulging to point that they look like they are pregnent.

    Crescent i used to think had the bigger fish because of some salt intrusison from
    St Johns, thus bringing in more and different continued food supply..

    Would like to know possible real reasons ?
