I guess it depends on who's catching them. I'd say 12" is a pretty darn good one.

It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings.

RD, thanks for asking the question that I've been too hesitant to ask. Apparently, it seems to be a somewhat flexible measurement!
Where 'bouts in MA, roughly?
I would say over 12 inches
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Hey from Alabama. In the private lakes I fish it would be 14" so it depends on the waters you fish.

i guess i got me some slabs. this past season, we had no ice where i fish. season before, i started fishing fishing for crappies after catchng a couple ice fishing. started small and then got one 11" . got a few more between 11-12" then 13, and 14. last month, while fishing for bass, saw a suspended school in the fishfinder and dropped a minnow. WHAM! pulled up a 15 incher.
i'm from Peabody, MA
Always remember the only dumb question was the one never asked. I was always raised you can't know nothing if u don't ask questions
