    Yes, a few companies target crappie by making slightly smaller cranks just for that purpose. Either it's to target the crappie or maybe the crappie fisherman. Saw a bunch at Bass Pro the other day.....

    people have been trolling crank baits for crappie for at least 60 years that i know of. back in the day it was hot shots that was the bait to have.

    try throwing them and slowly retrieving them over a shallow drop off. seems to work for me some times
