What I don't get is that they no doubt had a Cumberland River pilot aboard. I've seen a lot of pleasure boats fly through that area, but I stay in the river channel. Barkley is a tricky place at or near winter pool.
I been to Buzzard Rock Resort and Marina ...........

"Teach the world to fish = you won't have any fish left to eat "
That is a pretty big thing to have in the middle of a lake. The dangers around my home town where I grew up are not sticking up above the water, but at least as dangerous. In the river and bayous around there are some old concrete ships that sunk long ago just under the water.
wiskers go help them out

They got it loose. Took a tow boat to haul their anchor out so they could pull with the winch to help the tow boat.
Said the grounding happened in a driving rain with a pilot onboard with 35 years on the Cumberland. That's a pretty narrow channel there.
