I have successfully used a small umbrella rig. I have trolled on a downrigger, tightlined and cast it like a lure. Most success was casting. 50% crappie, 50% LM. Largest largemouth was about 4 lbs. The rig has been a keeper for me.
Any one doing it successfully? Tried cranks? Bought a few 2 arm "umbrella" rigs to tinker with, wondering if any ones tried it yet and how they faired?

They will probably work pulling cranks but I think you will find them too heavy to longline jigs with.

I can tie as many as I want longlining with loop knots. A-rigs is a modification of the umbrella rig for stripers and thats what they are best for. The rest is just hype. You can hang $20 on a stump real quick. They catch fish, but are not more effective than anything else.
