Think like a bow hunter, stealth all the way, lite colors, lite line, long casts, faster retrieve, and start @ dawn,
have fun/good luck,
Wow, hard to beat or add to the advice youve already gotten, but I will add one thing. Its summertime now, and be sure not to be fishing below the thermocline. Right now in the lake Ive been fishing mostly, its right at 12 to 13 feet deep. Any deeper is a waiste of your time. This would probably be different if you fish a lake with a good bit of current, which ours dont have, being it's a reservoir.
Fish at night with crappie light. Lots cooler than day fishing.
From Texas and to the forum. X2 on wearing light colors, movin' slow and retrieving moderately fast, being quiet. Clear water
causes fish to spook easier, imo. Good advice from all, good luck.

Fluorocarbon line always helps, but it does make the jig sink faster. Fish boat houses in full sun for the vast amount of shade offered. Fish deeper that you'd like.
Go deep. I've easily caught decent crappie 30-45ft deep in clear water.
Check out the post Got the blues in the diy plastics forum. That color would be great in clear water
