    Default New Begginner from California

    Hi Everyone-

New guy from the central valley of California. I joined to learn as I have not fished for crappie or panfish since I was a kid with my grandpa and dad. Now I've got a 6 y/o and 2 y/o and want to teach them the joys of fishing. So I came here to learn as I have no idea what I'm doing. Just wanted to say I'm glad I found this place, seems a really friendly so far has been extremely helpful.

From Texas and to the forum/site. Lots to learn here from all levels of
expertise. Enjoy the kids while you can, and they are at the age to be receptive
to learning things that will effect their lives from now to the time they teach.

Welcome from Florida. And what he ^^^^^^ said. Make sure it is fun for the kids and about them more so than the actual catching. If they wanna catch frogs, go catch frogs with em. etc, etc, etc,

Hey from Alabama! When I take my 5yr old Grand Daughter fishing she likes to fish for about 15 min and then play so that's what we do because it's not about the # of fish you bring home, it's about the memories you bring home. I wish you the best of times with them.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I don't plan to do a whole lot of fishing when I take the kids. Lord knows my son has no attention span yet. So I figure fish a few minutes, then throw rocks, then maybe swim, heck who knows. I just like the idea of doing what I did when I was a kid and getting them out of the house and away from a TV.
