    Default vertical trolling/ drifting


    i went out tiday and had a problem...the water had warmed up and i couldnt get the fish to bite i tried drifting with the wind and backtrolling under the boat but i had to use alot of heavy split shot to stay vertical... what size jigs do yall use and what advice can you give me? the water i was fishin is 11-12 feet...i still ended up catching 29 so i didnt do half bad but i would like to do better

    29? The limit in my waters is 30. If you're catching fish, what's the problem?

    its a private pond/lake..i went out 2 weeks ago on the first frost and me and my buddy caught 87 and i took my dad sunday and we got 43 and i went out today and oly got 29. im just lookin for new techniques cause my normal stuff just wasnt working the first part of the day...and i catch a significant more amount of fish usin crappie nibbles

    i think their mouths are just sore. but the water temp has warmed up alot so thats my reason why...they also bite better in the mornin when its colder

    Were you using driftsocks to slow down your speed? I've used two 77" Cabelas driftsocks atb the same time to maintain the speed I want in the winter.

    na i dont have one but the wind was blowin hard on and off. im gonna get a newer trolling motor that wont devour my battery. im thinkin one of the new minn kotas
