Default How di I "get on" the spot

I have a Hummingbird 798ci si.. I can find the structure and the fish on the screen and mark it. The problem I have is going to the spot. If you seen my Nav. screen you'll laugh til xmas. How do I "get on" the spot?

    Cool Waypoint

Are you marking it with a waypoint? Just go to it.

Your on "The Spot" when you start catching fish. I have to keep telling myself The Proofs In The Fishing. If it's brush your calling the spot, you will feel it, then look at you marker bouy and make a mental note.

Figure out which waypoint it is, hit the go to button on the face, select waypoint, then watch the boat icon at the top of the screen and steer the direction it is pointed. You can also go to the menu and set an arrival alarm, the shortest distance is 25ft I believe.

I don't use the " GOTO" feature on my 1197... I keep my chart view on "North Up" and just visually determine which I need to move the boat towards the waypoint that I want to go to... If that particular waypoint is not showing on my chart... I zoom the chart out until it does ... Then I can see which way I need to progress my boat to get to that "blue dot"...

When I am moving toward a marked waypoint I have my screen split into Chart/2d...

As I get closer to the "blue dot" I keep zooming in ...

If my "donut" goes past the "blue dot" without the brush showing on my 2d... I know I missed the brush left or right by a few feet....

When this occurs... I immediately switch my split screen view to Chart/SI to determine which side of my boat's path the brush shows up on the SI....

I then turn around and repeat at step 1....
Head toward "blue dot" ....unit on Chart/2d...
If brush shows up on 2d....yeah
No brush.... Missed it again.... Change unit to Chart/SI
See which side of boat brush shows on SI....

Sometimes I throw a buoy on the brush when I find it.... Most times not...depends on how long I plan to hover over that particular brush...
