Default New Member with a question

    Hi Guys
I am new here on the forum, and have a question, for someone who know about the B & M Sam Heaton Crappie pole----how many guides does this rod have in the 11 ft. length. I ask Basspro and they couldn't tell, because it was not listed on the website. I am thinking of buying one of these rods, and i am hoping that it has at least 12 to 13 guides. I have read some great reviews about the rod. Thanks for any help Bill

Don't know about the 11 ft, but the 10 ft has 9. You will love it.Almost feel the fish swim by, its so sensitive.

I am debating weather to get the migthy lite or the Sam Heaton---guides mean a lot to me on crappie poles, the mighty lite has 13, and I would guess the Heaton has 9, both are light weighted, I like the lightness of the mighty lite and all the guides, but not the handle, the Heaton has a cork handle and the guides are a brass oxide, I need to actually touch both rods to make up my mind. Thanks for the comment

I have both rods. I have fished them BOTH extensively. The heaton is so far superior that it's not even close. the mighty lite is a good rod, dont get me wrong. BUt the heaton is just THAT good. I have four 9', and a 10' heaton. Wouldnt take 10 rods of any caliber for them.

    hope this helps

Sorry for the late reply, been fishiing the last day or two, but I will tell you that you may have made up my mind as far as the rod selection is concerned. I will go ahead and get the Heaton. You are not the only one who has great reviews for this rod. I will be picking it up next week. Thanks for your help and all the others who responded this question. I know where to come to get some infomation on crappie equipment.

I probably have 2 of every rod made and I can say that the Heatons are a thing of beauty.
