Default Bass were biting the crappie jigs today....

Hey, fishing is fishing, so there's no complaints from me. Wound up with 2 crappie and 9 bass total. All on 1.5 black curly tail grubs. This is what we kept for supper. Thumbs Up

Thanks for the comments all- I was fishing an ultralight rod and reel with 4 pound line from the bank. Everything I caught was off the bottom with a modified Carolina rig (I tie a bullet weight about 8 inches above a hook- no jighead on the grub). I'm a recent convert to an UL rod and reel and absolutely love it now!

And EB, those are good ol' south Georgia crappie. That's the only kind we have around here. I'm normally a Bluegill fisherman, but sometimes stray over to the crappie side once in awhile. They fry up just perfect. ;-)

They are black crappie- the sun and angle of the pic make it look a lot more shiny than normal, I guess.
