caught 6 crappie in two hours today. kept two.
no pics today.
both were over 8 inches, one was 9. they are in the freezer.
i caught the 9 inch white on a "lindy rig" a lindy walking sinker tied with a # 8 amberdeen hook, i tipped the hook with a slurpies glow in the dark tube. it's so sensitive that you can literally feel every thump and rock.

actually a river, the tuscarawas river.

Is that considered a big crappie around there? What is the average size?

around here, that is about average. my luck with sizes seems to change day to day. one day im catching '5 and '6 inchers, and the other im catching '8 to '10 inchers.

uh, they are in the freezer. you dont mind pics of dead, thawed crappie do you?
i'll cook them this week, or if i go fishing again and catch more nice ones, i might thaw em so i can cook em.
