    Default Viscious Rumor

There's a rumor that a 5.4 lb White Crappie was caught on Oologah in Oklahoma this weekend. If that's true, it breaks the IGFA World Record by 1 oz.

world record fish pictures, United States record fish pics, IGFA records, freshwater & saltwater fishing records

I hope it's not because I don't want a bunch of yahoos invading my home lake!

If I find out any more about it, I'll let you know.

I'd rather see 'em live...or dead, before the mount has been done.:o

It will be classified as a tie to the record. It has to be 2oz over the existing catch to be the new record.

The old record was over 6lbs caught by a little girl in Westwigo, LA. It was so far fetched to think anyone would ever break it they started OVER several years ago. For a long time you could have got on the "board" with a 2lb crappie.

Always thought that sucked for that little girl though.

Uh...the record white crappie is 5lb 3oz caught in 1957 by Ed Bright at Enid lake, Ms. I have heard stories about a little girl in La catching a 6lber but have never seen it listed. Kind of an urban legend, I figure.
