Deeper water, isolated cover, bigger baits...There's a little to start out with. lol
Hey guys, i'm new to this forum but i've already found a ton of great info. I had a question that you guys could probably answer. I live in MA, and have been fishing my whole life. I've been really getting into crappie fishing lately. A week and a half ago, I got my two biggest crappie ever, on two casts in a row! They were 15" each. But in another local pond closer to my house, i got almost every day and always catch plenty of fish in the 7-9" range, never any bigger ones. Any tips to target larger crappie? Thanks -Alex

If its a small "pond" they may be overpopulated and stunted ???

I gotta go with Rad on this one, if the pond is really small you might need to harvest a bunch of those smaller fish to clean some out. Don't know what the fishing pressure is but if it's light you might be getting into the start of stunted fish which you really don't want.
I was actually thinking that. How many fish do you think I would need to take to have an impact? The fishing pressure is pretty light, and almost nobody else keeps them.
You can't catch enough to make a difference if they get over populated. It's easier to kill off the pond and start over.
