I'm starting to feel like a real fisherman now, thanks to the willing fish, here on my home lake. The bite is on and steady. They are hanging out just outside of blowdowns and brushpiles at 6 to 8 feet deep. I haven't caught any monster slabs but they're all 8 to 11 inches long. My wife is a diehard minnow user and after having her outfish me 3 to 1, I changed to them and that's all we've used for the last week. I've seen others doing well casting green body/chartreuse tail jigs. The water is so clear that it helps to cast on out away from the boat. I got up this morning to go and the wind was blowing hard out of the east. I don't believe I have enough trolling motor to fight it. I'll wait until it lies down a little.---Pooch
That's good news, Pooch. You might want to take your wife fishing more often, seems like she is bringing you good luck. (^0^) We're getting rain and t'storms here, supposed to last all day and accumulate 2"+. Good luck if you can get out today.
