    Default forward gas tanks

Any of you guys have a factory forward gas tank in your aluminum boat. I'm looking at boats and trying to figure out exactly what I want. One of them I looked at has a forward tank just behind the front deck (G3). Batteries only in the back well. Livewell was changed from in front of the console to the front deck and two storage boxes off the sides of the livewell. I am wondering if you could tell a big difference in the attitude of the boat, good and/or bad.

Its a great idea....I wish my G3 was like that. The difference in the weight distribution helps stabilize the boat and gets it on plane easier and quicker.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

My Crestliner has the tank under the floor in the center of the boat. Sure makes it easy to get on plane.

I believe they moved them to help offset the added weight of fourstrokes.

Sounds like a good idea as long as youre not overloading the front of the boat while fishing (2 man fishing side by side) to effect the trolling. Other than that it sounds fine to me.

sounds like a good idea with a four stroke the back of the boat can get a bit heavy with a full fuel tank

What about fuel pumps, seems like the further you pump it the more problems that are possible. My friends CC eats up fuel pumps.

crappiedoc, what motor does he have?

The only problem I can see arising is if you're on a steep ramp, lifting up the nose of the boat to get it on the front roller/rubber. I don't know, for sure, if I could lift an 1860 like that anyway. I got a 1756 now and I can handle it pretty good by myself.
