    Default Stump Lasso

Anybody ever use one of these? It's made by taking a pvc pipe and running a rope through it and making a slip loop out the end of it to help tie up to stickups without having to anchor or use a trolling motor. It keeps the boat away from the stick up by the length of the pvc pipe. I'm thinking about making one, could come in really handy. Wondering if anyone else uses one and how they like it.

Sure been using mine for probably 8 years. Just cut the length you want and have a cap for each end. Drill 2 holes in one end and just one in the other. A knot has to hold it in the cap with 2 holes and the rope goes from that cap through the hole and cab into the other hole and exits the other end hole. I use a few different sizes, one pretty short (not as useful except for certain spots) and a few that are probably between 3-4 foot long and just have enough rope coming out that exit to tie to something on your boat. I use at least one on each end of the boat most of the time. You can use one, but it probably will swing around a good bit.

You can even buy them already made now, but made mine and would again as there is nothing to it. All you need is some spots that have stumps or trees standing to place the rope over and pull and it will tighten around the stump or what ever you put it over.

Something else I meant to put together and got sidetracked. I've seen them in other boats and they are great.

I used 3/4 and 1/2 pvc and it's easier to get the rope through with 3/4 leave enough of a loop on both sides Mine is only 3 1/2 feet long including the loops. use it like a dog catcher.over the stump a hook on the front

Never heard of one before, but I like the idea. I'll have to make one up.

I put a threaded coupling in the middle of mine so you can fold in half. MAKES IT EASIER TO STORE. Its 4 ft. folded 8ft put together.

I made mine with sinking rope so its easier to attach to stick ups that don't protrude above the surface of the water.
