sounds like you had a real good day troller
My fishing partner & I had planned a crappie trip to Boone for Monday January 30th but after a brief disscussion after pulling out of the driveway, we turned down interstate 81 and headed for Douglas lake instead.
The weather was nice and we got on the water at around 9:30am. We put in at the ramp on 25E in the river channel. Seen several other fisherman "jigging" down around point 18 for saugers. They were catching a few.
Long story short......Started trolling about 12:30pm. Caught 2 limits of nice white crappie....only 1 that would not measure (9 3/4"). Also caught 8 nice saugers and 1 drum while trolling. Couple of small bass, also a yellow perch.
Storm came up, and was caught on the water about 1/2 mile from the ramp. Wasn't sure if we would make if off the water. Horrible wind.....big breaks.
Fish were caught about 8 feet deep. Water was still cold.
Will try it again late this week or early next (depending on the weather.)
We are planning to crappie fish on South Holston tomarrow (Wednesday February 1st). Good Luck!

Oh ok Rick. We fish there alot. I have seen days where you had to troll to get them. They will generally hit a float if the water is moving. WHen the dam starts generating and the water pulls, they will hit like crazy.
