very nice day huh
After all the rain, wind and flooding of this spring it was nice to fish in good weather for a change. The fish liked it also. Came in early with a good catch. 4yr old fish 10-11", mostly whites in all stages of the spawn. Fun day and happy fishermen.
very nice day huh

How many are in the cooler, Gary? I'm guessing about 80. What color are they hitting? I'll guess again, red and white. Brownlee is getting good again, that's great.
Nice cooler of crappie and congrats but I'm with the rest, what did you catch em on?

Partly right CP. 1/16 oz homemade horsehead spin jig with a 2" acid rain grub was dynamite. 1/16oz plain, round leadheads with 1.5" tubes in chart, chart/red & chart/orange were also really good,Southern Pro & BPS Squirts. JB, that group cleans their fish so we used their cooler but I would guess around 175, at least 150. I usually hit it pretty close. We just eased down the shore with the trolling motor casting in about 5' from shore or letting the baits drift behind the boat. For you guys not familiar with the Snake this canyon is so steep that 20' from shore is 20-30' deep. All rock structure, not much vegetation. Hard to plant brushpiles because of the steepness and the drawdowns.
Today we did a catfish/crappie combo. Slow on cats but great on crappie again. Cats were caught on crappie meat & guts.
So where's my dinner invite?
.
Come on over. If Gary wont feed you come over to Caldwell and we will. But you have to help us catch the fish.
