Default post spawn crappie and gill pics

Tuesday evening I hit one of my favorite post spawn crappie and bluegill spots. The pattern that I have used for the past 30+ years stayed true and I hit them hard. All the good specks and gills were on the outer edges of stump fields lining a river channel through an impoundment. I used a purple 1/64 oz jig with my favorite little Eagle Claw Crappie bait. I put 57 good keepers in the kayak. I kept a couple nice specks and about a dozen big gills. All the male gills I landed were between 8 1/2 and 11 inches and the better specks were all 11 or 12 inchers.
