I went to a chain electronics store and found several notebook computer carry cases, soft side with padding for under $20, for my 997. The little built in pockets are handy for carrying extra SDHC card and electronic screen wipes etc. I always tow boat to lakes and carry 997 in its case in car, never trail boat with 997 on boat, twofold-- soft ride in car & keeps honest folks honest cause its not out where then can grab it when stopping for gas, bait, & san-mich.....

had 2 buddies stop at Mcdonalds before daylight....came back out and all their rods were gone....sometimes we need a wake up call that everyone is not honest......just hard to believe that a fisherman would be dishonest...

Mine came with the white plastic cover that goes over the screen. Other than that, I don't use anything. They go from my safe to the backseat of the pickup and then on the boat when I get to where I'll be fishing. When I'm done,. they go back to the pickup and back in the safe when I get home.

Never thought about carrying them in anything since the screen is protected.

i bought a hard case that holds 6 pistols and it holds my 2 units perfect

I made this one about 14 years ago and has served well. Need to make another one for a new finder.
